PYAC Class
Are you an adoptive parent facing the challenges of raising tweens and teens?
Navigating through these crucial ages can be challenging for any parent, but adoptive parents face unique challenges that only other adoptive parents are likely to understand.
That’s why I created Parenting Your Adopted Child, a six-week a course that focuses on helping adoptive parents support adopted tweens and teen as the entire family navigates the sometimes tumultuous inner and outer terrain of growing up.
In Parenting Your Adopted Child we’ll explore, reflect on and share the unique challenges of adoptive parenting. The class provides valuable information you can put to immediate use and encourages free and frank discussion of parenting adopted tweens and teens.
By the time you are done with the course, you’ll learn:
- How to process the losses that are inherent in the adoption process
- How to openly discuss the topic of adoption with your child
- How to help your child become emotionally unstuck, if and when this happens
- How to manage feelings of rejection, guilt and shame
- How to support your child’s quest for identity and self-esteem
