This Wednesday, November 14th, from 9:00-9:30 Central Time, I am looking forward to being Linda Ballesteros’ guest on Power Talk Radio. Of course, the topic will be adoption and What To Expect From Your Adopted Tween. Would love to have you participate with your questions: 347-989-1363 or listen to the show. (Update Note: You can listen to my appearance here or click on the Power Talk image in the side bar.)
I am again participating in the Adoption Blogger Interview Project. The project was created by Heather Schade, who blogs at Production, Not Reproduction. I met Heather, and her rapping husband, when I was speaking at Symposium 2011 Opening Adoption: Realities, Possibilities, and Challenges. I so appreciate her advocacy.
Adoption Bloggers Interview Project provides adoption bloggers with the opportunity to interview each other about their adoption experience and promotes openness and discussion among not only the bloggers, but their readers as well. Represented again this year are adoptees, birth parents, advocates, adoptive parents, and waiting parents. Over 100 people will be covering topics ranging from reunions, openness, infertility, social justice issues, ethics and policy, gay parenting, and much, much more. I encourage you to hope around on Wednesday and later and read through the interviews.
This time around I’ve been paired with Kierstin, an adoptive mom. Kierstin has open adoptions with both of her daughters’ birth mothers. Her interview will run here on the 14th and 15th (Wednesday and Thursday). My interview will run on Kiersten’s blog, Our Family Building Adventure.
Discussion: What do you have planned to bring awareness to the vast layers and complexities that are adoption?
