What is the Culture of Your Family?

April 5, 2010

CultureWhen asked this question people often use definitions of heritage, ethnicity, or race. Composition. But I’m not talking about these.

What I’m talking about is the collective “mindset” of your family. Implicit and explicit behavior, attitudes, ideas, and perspectives, and the values attached to them and how you are interconnected to one another.

How does what is lived, taught and learned from one another affect family members? And what does your adopted child take from all of it?

Parents: How does the culture of your family distinguish yours from other families? How does the culture of your family impact each member?
